If not involved in quality, out-of-school programs, children are at risk of engaging in negative behavior.
A key group of organizations and individuals is emerging to focus on improving out-of-school time for children and youth in VA.
All children and youth in Virginia have access to high quality, out-of-school time programs that prepare them to be successful in school, work, and life.

Highlight Your Program at the Statewide SummitYou are invited to submit a digital video clip highlighting your afterschool/out-of-school time program. On June 6, 2012, the Virginia Partnership for Out-of-School Time (VPOST) will host a Summit at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, VA to discuss the need for before and after school programs, summer activities and other out-of-school time (OST) learning opportunities for youth. To strengthen ways that city and state leaders collaborate to provide these opportunities, the National League of Cities’ (NLC) Institute for Youth, Education and Families (YEF Institute) selected nine statewide afterschool networks from across the country to host summits on expanding access to afterschool programs and building citywide OST systems.
Throughout the course of the Summit, attendees will have the opportunity to see video examples of exemplary programs across Virginia. Participating organizations are invited to submit a 3-5 minute digital video clip that highlights your afterschool/out-of-school time program.
