The Virginia Partnership for Out-of-School Time (VPOST) Summit will build knowledge and public will in support of Raising the Bar for Afterschool and Summer Learning for Student Success. We will highlight programs that serve students attending high-poverty schools with academic enrichment activities specifically focusing on interactive evidence based curriculum that support high quality programs.  A focus on  increased awareness among all stakeholder groups regarding the impact of out-of-school opportunities on both youth and community outcomes will be the overriding theme of this event.

This dynamic event will feature the following activities:

  • Keynote address: Jim Harris, MSW, Ed.S.
  • Workshop Topics: Out-of-School Time Quality Standards for Virginia, Physical Activity and Wellness, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), College and Career Readiness, and Afterschool as a Prevention Strategy
  • Lunch and networking
  • The ultimate goal of the event is not only to create local champions, but also to support youth access to quality Out-of-School Time Programs in communities statewide.
