We support local, state-level, and federal policy initiatives to coordinate resources that lead to out-of-school time program sustainability.
POLICY
Locally, we work with governing bodies and develop public-private partnerships in support of local programs. On a state-level, we make recommendations to the Virginia General Assembly. Federally, VPOST works to advocate for key policies. For the last four years, a crucial priority has been resisting proposals to reduce or eliminate funding for 21st Century Community Learning Centers.
AWARENESS
VPOST hosts and participates in events and campaigns to bring awareness to the unique, powerful and valuable work of out-of-school time programs in Virginia. Through in-person events, as well as through digital education and movements, VPOST is a champion of Virginia’s out-of-school time community!
